As part of the “AI Innovation Competition Baden-Württemberg” for the research and development of innovations in the field of artificial intelligence, d-serv GmbH from Tübingen is starting the year 2021 in the joint research project “KI4VPB – Virtual Planning Office”.
Together with the project partners bwcon research gGmbH, the Institute for Enterprise Systems of the University of Mannheim, Loidl GmbH and The Chainless GmbH, the aim of the project is to develop an AI-supported recording and plausibility check of construction plans and to have it as a prototype by September 2021 respectively Provide a basis for later product development.
For construction projects, it is not uncommon for several thousand plans to be drawn up during the planning and construction phase and they must be available to a large number of project participants (property developers, construction companies, tradespeople, architectural offices, planning offices) at all times. The number of plans often exceeds the available capacity to view and evaluate the sometimes heterogeneous data material. The most time-consuming factors in viewing and evaluating include the manual categorization and structuring of the blueprints and the addition of descriptive meta information.
The aim of the project is, among other things, to simplify and accelerate precisely these time-consuming processes by using AI-supported plan acquisition and plausibility checks, on the basis of which construction plans can then be automatically structured, tagged and annotated. In the best case, new, additional plans can then be compared with existing, recorded plans on the basis of a plausibility check and validation, which means that any planning errors in the construction project can be identified at an early stage.
Due to the 20 years of software and product development, d-serv GmbH can above all contribute its experience and know-how about the digitally available and editable plans in PDF format, which, in combination with the knowledge of the project partners, create a web-based software solution for recording and plausibility check of construction plans for architectural offices, planning offices and property developers.
d-serv GmbH is thus strengthening its competence and the expansion of web-based software applications, which, in addition to its own web-to-publish solution ci-book™ , will form an essential part of its service portfolio from 2021.
